I have an American Suspension Fork on my bike and I was told that its a 2-1/2 inch fork not a 63mm. Is this right, I know the fork on my Harley is a 41mm, what gives?

Forks made in the USA typically buy thier steel from USA steel mills so they are inch sizes like 2-1/2" or 1-7/8. If a fork advertises 63mm it probably is made overseas. Most of the harley forks 41mm are made overseas (probably as cheaply as possible) I have heard that most of the parts on a Harley are made overseas. I own a bike from Thunder Mountain, it cost moire, but its American Muscle.
